Dr. Sapana Chokshi did her training in Psychiatry at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, which has an excellent residency program devoted to training psychiatrists in a community setting. Dr. Sapana Chokshi completed her training in 2004 and received her board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2005. Dr. Chokshi is licensed to practice Psychiatry in the State of Illinois. She is the founder of Hinsdale Psychiatry, S.C. Her outpatient covers a variety of modalities focusing on adult outpatient psychiatric treatment.
Alexandria M. Shanklin is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, GA and Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Ms. Shanklin has been practicing for over 10 years seeing clients from ages 10 to 80. She has extensive experience in treating individuals who are dually diagnosed with addiction and mood disorders. Ms. Shanklin uses a variety of treatment modalities including client-centered, cognitive, and behavioral therapy techniques. Within the umbrella of behavioral therapy techniques, Ms. Shanklin offers neurofeedback to her clients for treating a variety of mental health issues and for peak performance training.
King completed levels 1 & 2 of obedience training and is pursuing his Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Certifications. He provides comfort to the office staff and loves being visited by patients on their way out of the office. He spreads joy and smiles throughout the office, and provides a dose of unconditional love to those who stop to visit him. He spends his time away from the office with Dr. Chokshi and her family. He loves taking long walks outside, playing with other dogs, and anything that involves treats. His favorite snacks are baby carrots, blueberries, and antler chews.
As a clinical therapist for the past twenty years, John have extensive experience helping clients navigate through life's challenges. His therapy approach is to help individuals and families reconcile their internal struggles and gain greater emotional clarity. His therapeutic foundation is evidence-based with cognitive behavioral skills to help clients become unstuck and achieve greater happiness and success. John is a certified anger management therapist who can offer education and brief treatment for court or work purposes, trained in working with clients who struggle with issues related to substance abuse and addictions.
